Fo:RCE Photography: Reflection, Creation and Teaching is a center for activity and critical thought with photography as its main focus.

It integrates undergraduate and master’s degree programs in Photography, encompassing research, artistic expression, community engagement, and technical development.

Supported by a faculty composed of professional photographers, artists, and researchers, as well as by excellent infrastructures and equipment, Fo:RCE maintains an ongoing dynamic between students, teachers, the school and the wider community, emphasizing experimentation, artistic practice, and project-based research as processes of knowledge production and innovation.

Editions / Publications


Fo:RCE sees photobooks as a privileged channel for disseminating photography. It has collaborated regularly with independent publishers (Ghost, XYZ, Ideias no Escuro, Stolen Books, among others) and the STET bookstore to put together a collection of books and publications for the university library, that combines photographic and artistic creation with editorial practice.

Furthermore, Fo:RCE has been publishing its own editions (books, newspapers, zines, etc.) resulting from various curricular units and other curricular enrichment activities, such as the BIP program, which brings together students from various European schools. Every year, the ANO III photo edition is designed and produced by final-year students and teachers and presented at the final course exhibition.
